Carmela Monger

Business Development Manager at Hudson Institute of Medical Research

Carmela brings more than 23 years’ experience managing the intellectual property portfolios for businesses in private practice and medical research to Hudson Institute, including oversight of the strategic commercialisation of technologies in Australia and overseas. Carmela is a registered patent attorney and graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She was recently a Director of Nexpep Pty Ltd and the Victorian Cancer Biobank. She has secured high-value license deals with pharma, venture capital and biotech and was actively involved in a landmark monetisation deal at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute.

At Hudson, Carmela manages and contributes to a range of activities including intellectual property management, opportunity identification and analysis, research and marketing of commercial projects, investor and partner relations, commercial agreements and technology transfer.
