Erik Linsalata has extensive work experience in engineering and project management roles. Erik is currently serving as the Chief Engineer at Hudson River Park Trust since 2022. Prior to this, they worked as the Deputy Director of Engineering for NYC Department of Parks & Recreation from 2014 to 2022. Erik also held the position of Program Manager at The Trust for Public Land in 2013. In addition, Erik worked as a Project Manager for Sullivan Solar Power from 2011 to 2012. Erik began their career at NYC Department of Parks & Recreation in 2006, where they held various roles including Senior Project Manager and Assistant to the Chief Engineer. Overall, they have experience in managing construction projects, designing public facilities, and overseeing infrastructure development.
Erik Linsalata has a strong educational background in engineering and sustainability. Erik obtained their Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Vanderbilt University, completing their studies from 2002 to 2006. Following this, Erik pursued further education at USC, where they earned a Master of Science (MS) degree in Green Technologies - sustainable urban engineering between 2012 and 2013.
Erik's educational journey began in high school at Bergen County Academies, where they completed the Academy of Engineering and Design Technology from 1998 to 2002.
In addition to their formal education, Erik has obtained several certifications to enhance their professional qualifications. Erik achieved LEED AP BD+C certification from the USGBC Green Building Certification Institute in December 2012. Erik also became a Professional Engineer certified by the State of New York in January 2012. Erik is currently in the process of applying for the PMP (Project Management Professional) certification from PMI (Project Management Institute).
