David Fergusson has extensive work experience, beginning in 1996 when they were a Senior Analyst at GK Goh Stockbrokers Pte Ltd. In 1999, they became Head of Telecoms Investment Banking and a Director at CLSA. Fergusson, then moved on to UBS and Citigroup in 2005 and 2006 respectively, as a Director. In 2007, they joined Dunfallandy Trust as a Member of the Investment Committee. From 2009 to 2012, they were a Partner at Woodside Holdings Investment Management, Director at Nimoi Holdings, and Chairman at Global Precious Metals Pte. Ltd. Finally, in 2014, they became a Director at Agricola Holdings, and in 2019, they became the CEO and Co-Founder of Hugo.

David Fergusson completed their MBA at the London Business School in 2004. Fergusson, is currently studying for a Research Doctorate at the University of Life in the School of Hardknocks. Fergusson, is also an alum of The University of Edinburgh, where they earned an MA. Their educational background also includes Marlborough College.
