Eki Korpiola has over 25 years of experience in legal and intellectual property (IP) roles. Currently, they serve as the Vice President of Intellectual Property, Legal at Huhtamaki since July 2021. Before joining Huhtamaki, they spent 12 years (2009-2021) at Amer Sports Corporation, where they held the position of General Counsel Suunto Oy and Head of IP and Legal at Amer Sports Digital Solutions. In these roles, they had global responsibility for legal and IP matters, including cross-border transactions, litigation, IP licensing, compliance work, and governance. Additionally, they were a member of the global management teams of Suunto Oy and Amer Sports Connected Devices. Prior to that, Eki worked at Nokia for 7 years (2002-2009) as a Senior Legal Counsel, focusing on technology transactions, licensing, and M&A. Eki also held various leadership positions within Nokia's business units. Eki began their legal career at Roschier, Attorneys Ltd., where they worked for 6 years (1996-2002). During their time there, they handled privacy, technology licensing, corporate law matters, and transactions such as IPOs and private placements.

Eki Korpiola obtained a Master of Laws in Intellectual Property Law from the University of Helsinki between 1993 and 1998. Prior to that, between 1989 and 1992, Eki attended Mäkelänrinne sports high school, specializing in Judo. Eki also completed the Finnish Defence Forces training to become a Reserve Officer, specifically a Lieutenant Jaeger.
