Kevin Nash, PhD, DABT has a diverse work experience starting from their role as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at The Ohio State University Medical Center in 2009. There they were responsible for the characterization of synthetic nitrones and in silico investigation of free-radical reactions using Density Functional Theory. Later, they worked as a Toxicology Technician III at NAMSA, where they conducted safety and toxicology testing of medical devices. In 2013, they became a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Toledo, where they worked on the development of neuroprotective agents targeting neurodegeneration associated with stroke and Alzheimer's disease. Their role included conducting in vitro and in vivo stroke models, performing neurological deficit scoring, behavioral testing, MTT, Immunofluorescence, and Immunoblotting. In 2017, they worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow - Nonclinical Drug Development at Axovant Sciences. Their responsibilities included contributing to the design and oversight of IND/NDA-enabling preclinical studies for small molecule and gene therapy programs and managing CROs from protocol writing to study initiation & monitoring to report revision. Most recently, they have been working as a Senior Preclinical Scientist at Humacyte since June 2019. In this position, they are responsible for serving as a Study Director for IND-enabling Nonclinical studies in surgical models of cardiovascular disease, histological evaluation of explant specimens, and managing CRO and academic collaborator relationships from inception to completion of studies.

Kevin Nash earned their Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry from The Ohio State University from 2007 to 2011. Kevin then pursued further studies at The University of Toledo from 2013 to 2017 and received a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics. In November 2022, they obtained a certification in toxicology (DABT) from the American Board of Toxicology, Inc.
