Dayo Shittu is a Bioinformatics Scientist at the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) since July 2023, following an internship at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso where analysis of gene expression in normal and cancer samples was conducted using various bioinformatic tools and the R programming language. Prior to this, Dayo served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and Graduate Research Assistant at The University of Texas at El Paso while also gaining experience as a Junior Data Scientist at Amana Medical Center, focusing on healthcare data analysis and machine learning techniques. Additional experience includes work as an Intermediate Web and Graphics Designer at A4mation Communications. Dayo holds a Professional Master of Science in Bioinformatics from The University of Texas at El Paso, a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology and Community Health from the University of Ilorin, and a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from the same institution.
