Elizabeth Balcom

Elizabeth Balcom is a seasoned professional in nonprofit leadership and development, currently serving as the Senior Director of Communities & Volunteer Relations at the Human Rights Campaign since January 2023. Previously, Elizabeth held the position of Senior Director of Development at the University of California, San Diego's Rady School of Management, where leadership involved managing a team focused on major gift fundraising and alumni engagement. Elizabeth's tenure at Bryn Mawr College featured roles including Director of Major Gifts and Senior Associate Director of Major Gifts, where significant fundraising achievements contributed to the institution’s $250 million Defy Expectation Campaign. Earlier experience includes positions at the University of Pennsylvania, where responsibilities ranged from Class Giving Director to coordinating the Benjamin Franklin Society, alongside work as a Legal Assistant/Intern and an Undergraduate Intern at Northwestern University. Elizabeth holds a Master of Science in Nonprofit Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Arts in History and Italian Studies from Smith College.
