Director, Digital Content & Strategy at Human Rights Campaign

Hillary Esquina has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Hillary is currently working at the Human Rights Campaign as the Director of Digital Content & Strategy, a position they started in June 2023. Prior to this role, they served as the Deputy Director of Digital & Marketing at the same organization from August 2022 to June 2023.

Before joining the Human Rights Campaign, Hillary was the Co-Owner/Producer & Writer at Representation Matters LLC since June 2018. At Representation Matters, they co-owned and helped produce independent LGBTQ films and web series.

Hillary also has experience in conservation and wildlife organizations. Hillary worked at Defenders of Wildlife as the Director of Content Marketing from March 2020 to July 2022, and previously as the Web Marketing and Social Media Manager from January 2017 to March 2020. Prior to that, they held positions at the National Wildlife Federation, where they served as the Senior Manager, Multimedia from September 2014 to January 2017, and as the Multimedia Content Producer from October 2011 to September 2014.

In the early stages of their career, Hillary worked as a Multimedia Producer/ Audio Visual Technician Specialist at the New America Foundation in 2011. Hillary also gained experience as a Segment Producer at NewsChannel8/TBD.COM from June 2010 to March 2011, and as a Video Editor at WJLA-TV/ NewsChannel8 from May 2007 to June 2010.

Hillary's work experience also includes a role as a Producer/Editor Production Intern at PlumTV in Aspen, CO in 2006, and as an Assistant Manager/Photographer at SharpShooter Imaging from October 2004 to January 2006. In the latter position, they were responsible for managing a team of photographers, handling daily business operations, and scheduling shoots.

Lastly, Hillary began their career as a Production Specialist at PWC Television Network from October 1998 to July 2002.

Hillary Esquina obtained their high school diploma from CD Hylton between 1998 and 2002, with a field of study in Television Production. Hillary then pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Film and Video Production from Full Sail University from 2003 to 2006. In addition to their formal education, Hillary has also obtained several certifications, including a Social Media Marketing Strategist Certificate from Social Media Marketing University Global in 2014. Hillary has also completed various online courses and obtained certifications in marketing, leadership, diversity, equity and inclusion, emotional intelligence, and other related areas from institutions like LinkedIn and USF Corporate Training and Professional Education between 2020 and 2023.
