Deputy Director, Aging Equality Project at Human Rights Campaign

Dan Stewart, MSG has a diverse work experience in the field of geriatrics and LGBTQ+ advocacy. Dan most recently worked as an Associate Director for the Aging Equality Project at the Human Rights Campaign. In this role, they focused on promoting the rights and well-being of aging LGBTQ+ individuals.

Prior to this, Dan served as an Adjunct Professor and Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant at Saint Louis University. Dan contributed to research projects, including the Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program, and provided educational seminars on research findings.

Dan also held positions at various organizations, such as PROMO, where they were a Special Programs Coordinator, overseeing programs dedicated to supporting LGBT elders and providing training on inclusivity. Dan served as a Graduate Research Assistant and Adjunct Professor at the University of Missouri-Saint Louis, conducting research and teaching courses.

Additionally, Dan has experience as a Data Entry Coordinator at VOYCE St. Louis and as a Graduate Student Intern at SAGE Metro St. Louis, where they developed educational materials and provided support to older adults. Dan also worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Missouri - St. Louis, focusing on older adults and medical fitness to drive.

Dan began their career as a Community Life Services Coordinator and Activity Assistant at Friendship Village Chesterfield, planning activities for older adults and providing support. Dan also worked as a Summer Graduate Intern at Dolan Memory Care Homes and as Direct Care Staff at TouchPoint Autism Services.

Dan Stewart, MSG has a Master's Degree in Gerontology from the University of Missouri-Saint Louis, which they obtained from 2014 to 2015. Prior to that, they earned an Honors Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology from Saint Louis University from 2008 to 2012. In addition to their education, Dan has obtained several certifications. Dan is a graduate of the FBI St. Louis Citizens Academy, having completed the program in May 2019. In April 2017, they obtained certification in Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). Furthermore, in May 2015, Dan completed training to become Clinical Dementia Rating Trained at Washington University in St. Louis.
