Lilia Brooker

Program Associate, Refugee Representation at Human Rights First

Lilia Brooker is an administrative assistant in the Refugee Representation program at Human Rights First since September 2023, previously serving as a program management intern in the same organization. Lilia's experience includes working as an Undergraduate Research Fellow at Columbia Law School's Sabin Center for Climate Change Law, where Lilia received the Columbia College Summer Research Fellowship, collaborated with Professor Michael Gerrard, and contributed significantly to a book on ocean carbon dioxide removal and climate change legislation. As co-founder and co-owner of The Debate and Public Speaking Institute, LLC, Lilia developed and managed educational programs for over 100 students across multiple countries while overseeing a team of 15 instructors. Additionally, Lilia interned at Livingston Capital Ventures, LP, focusing on investment research and community policing solutions. Lilia earned a Bachelor of Arts in Human Rights with a specialization in Public Health from Columbia University, complemented by study abroad experiences and an academic background from prestigious institutions such as Deerfield Academy and The Winsor School.
