Zama Neff serves as the Director of the Children's Rights Division at Human Rights Watch since 2007, where leadership has led to significant initiatives focused on education and armed conflict, child rights in relation to new technologies, and various child protection issues. Previously, Zama held roles as Deputy Director at Justice Rapid Response and as a Child Rights Expert with the Global Coalition to Protect Education from Attack, where Zama co-founded a coalition advocating for educational protection during armed conflict. With prior experience at the Norwegian Refugee Council and extensive research work at Human Rights Watch, Zama has authored numerous reports on human rights abuses. Zama's educational background includes a Doctor of Law degree from New York University and a Bachelor’s degree in English from Davidson College.
