Sam Ellingson has a diverse work experience spanning several organizations. Beginning in 2010, Sam worked as a Volunteer Manager at the Portland Children's Museum until February 2012. They then transitioned to the Alzheimer's Association Oregon Chapter, where they served as an Associate Director of Programs - Education and Outreach from February 2012 to January 2014. Finally, Sam joined the Humane Society for Southwest Washington in January 2014, initially as an Associate Director of Marketing and Communications and later promoted to the role of Director of Communications and Marketing in May 2022. Their responsibilities at the Humane Society included managing communications, social media content, media relations, website management, and strategic partnerships.
Sam Ellingson attended the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse from 1997 to 2002, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Theatre/Theatre Arts Management.

The Humane Society for Southwest Washington is dedicated to completing families through animal adoptions, matchmaking, and lost and found services. We're more than the largest Adoption Center-Shelter in Southwest Washington, we also own and operate ReTails Thrift Store - the premiere Clark County thrifting experience! We believe in second chances - not only for pets, but for gently used home goods, clothing, books and much more!
