Anna Cristina Souza is an experienced professional in animal welfare and corporate policy, currently serving as Program and Policy Manager at Humane Society International since September 2021. In this role, Anna leads the Brazilian team's strategy for Farm Animal Welfare and Protection, focusing on engaging stakeholders in the food, retail, and hospitality sectors to advance cage-free systems and improve animal welfare standards. Previously, Anna held various positions at Korin Agricultura & Meio Ambiente, engaging with avian health research and regulatory affairs, and also gained hands-on agricultural experience through WWOOF in Canada and the USA. Anna holds a Veterinary Medicine degree from USP and is currently pursuing a doctorate at the same institution.
