Kitty Block

Kitty Block has held various roles throughout their work experience. Kitty currently serves as the President and CEO of The Humane Society of the United States since January 2019. Prior to this, they were the Acting CEO and President of the organization from February 2018 to January 2019. In addition, Block has also worked at Humane Society International, where they held positions such as Chief Executive Officer (July 2019 - Present), President (2017 - July 2019), Senior Vice President (2015 - 2017), and Vice President (2007 - 2015). Kitty also served as an Advisor on Trade and Environmental Policy at The White House in 2011. Furthermore, Block has been an Elected Member of the International Dolphin Conservation Agreement International Review Panel since 2007. Kitty'searlier work experience includes roles such as Special Counsel to the United Nations & Treaties Department and Director of Legal Research and Development at The Humane Society of the United States.

Kitty Block obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and Philosophy from the University of New Hampshire in 1986. Kitty then pursued further education and completed their Doctor of Law (JD) degree at The George Washington University, specializing in Law.
