Melissa Christenson

Melissa Christenson has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Melissa is currently the Co-Founder and Head of Product Development at Hume Supernatural, a position they have held since January 2019. Prior to this, Melissa was the Founder and CEO of BRIDGE, Inc. Product Design + Development, a company they started in August 2016.

From May 2012 to July 2016, Melissa worked as the Marketing Director-Product Development at The J.R. Watkins Co. where they managed various departments and handled product development for different channels. Melissa also co-founded Zaega, Inc., an education-focused and eco-centric resource for beauty products and healthy living, from March 2009 to May 2012.

Melissa has held positions of increasing responsibility in the beauty industry, including President of Intelligent Nutrients, LLC from February 2007 to February 2009. Prior to that, they worked at Aveda Corporation in various marketing roles from June 2000 to June 2006, including Executive Marketing Director, Marketing Director, and Marketing Manager.

Before their time at Aveda Corporation, Melissa was a Senior Brand Manager at Alberto-Culver, where they handled brand management for St. Ives Body Care and Face Care in different retail channels from March 1998 to June 2000. Melissa also worked as a New Products Marketing Manager at Redmond Products, Inc. from June 1996 to February 1998.

Melissa began their career as a Senior Chemist at Aveda Corporation in December 1995 and later worked as a Senior Research Chemist and Chemist at DowBrands from June 1990 to December 1995.

Melissa Christenson completed their B.A. in Chemistry at St. Olaf College from 1986 to 1990. Following that, they pursued an MBA in Marketing at the University of Minnesota - Carlson School of Management from 1995 to 1998.
