Pieter Swanepoel

Pieter Swanepoel has a diverse and extensive work experience. Pieter is currently the Head of Development at Hungry Lion since September 2022. Prior to that, they worked as the Director Of Development at Yum! Brands from December 2019 to August 2022. Pieter also served as the Chief Executive Officer at The Real Meat Africa Company Limited from May 2015 to November 2019. Pieter has experience as a Country General Manager at Astral Foods Ltd. where they established a green fields operation in Ethiopia from February 2013 to April 2015. Pieter has also worked as a Consultant at Sable Island (UK) LLP in 2012. Pieter was the Managing Director West Africa at Zambeef Products PLC from April 2009 to September 2012. Additionally, Pieter worked as a Financial Manager and Accountant at Africa Supermarkets Ltd t/a Shoprite Zambia from January 2000 to March 2009, where they handled financial planning and reporting, internal controls, trade creditors management, and accounting duties.

Pieter Swanepoel began their education at Sentraal High School from 1991 to 1995, where they earned a Senior Certificate. Pieter then proceeded to the University of the Free State, where they pursued a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) degree from 1996 to 1999. Their studies focused on Accounting, Economics, and Commercial Law. Later, Pieter furthered their education at the University of Liverpool, where they completed an MBA in International Business from 2011 to 2015.
