Frances Hellums is an experienced education professional and artist with a diverse background in theater arts and teaching. Currently serving as an Education Associate and Assistant Director at The Huntington, Frances contributed to the world premiere of Taylor Mac's play 'Joy and Pandemic.' As a Summer Arts Workshop Teaching Artist at Theater in the Open, Frances provides creative instruction, while also working as a Substitute Teacher at Shady Hill School and previously at Brookline Public Schools. With experience as a Simulated Patient Actor at Boston University School of Medicine, Frances aids in training medical students through role-play scenarios. Past roles include Head Counselor at Beaver Country Day School, Therapeutic Mentor at ARTRELIEF LLC, and Director of Visual Arts Programming at Theater in the Open. Frances holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Arts Performance from Boston University College of Fine Arts and has further education in psychology, French, and visual arts from the IAU Institute for American Universities.
