Majid Sharifi

Majid Sharifi has a diverse work experience. Majid started their career at Drexel University as an Assistant Research Fellow, where they focused on synthesizing and characterizing toughened epoxy coatings and composites. Majid also developed a self-healing coating and conducted computer simulations using MATLAB. During this time, they also worked as a Teaching Assistant. Following their time at Drexel University, Majid worked at Oblon as a Patent Technical Advisor, drafting over 80 U.S. patent applications in various technologies. Most recently, they have been working at Huntsman Corporation as a Sr. R&D Engineer and is currently serving as a Principal Engineer. In these roles, they have managed multiple R&D projects, designed and developed pilot processes, and presented data to both internal and external stakeholders.

Majid Sharifi holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) with distinction in Chemical Engineering from Drexel University, where they completed their studies from 2010 to 2015. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Chemical Engineering - Safety and Technical Protection from Petroleum University of Technology, graduating in the year 2009. In addition to their formal education, Majid Sharifi has obtained certifications in Adhesive Bonding of Composites and Metals as well as Composite Essentials for Engineers and Managers from Abaris Training Resources, Inc. in 2019.
