Head Physiotherapist at Hurricanes

Nicole Armstrong is an experienced physiotherapist currently serving as the Head Physiotherapist for the Hurricanes Super Rugby team since December 2020, where responsibilities include injury diagnosis, management, and facilitating player return to play. Previously, Nicole held the position of Return to Play Physiotherapist at Wellington Rugby and was the Head Physiotherapist for New Zealand Rugby, overseeing the Black Ferns Sevens team. With a robust background in rugby physiotherapy, Nicole has worked with various organizations, including North Harbour Rugby, the Blues, and North Harbour Marist Rugby Club. Nicole's educational credentials include a Master's in Health Science with Distinction in Sports and Exercise, a Postgraduate Diploma in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, and a Bachelor's in Health Science (Physiotherapy) from Auckland University of Technology.

The Hurricanes represents the Hurricanes Investec Super Rugby team. Founded in 1996, the Hurricanes are based in Wellington and play the majority of their home matches at Sky Stadium. The Hurricanes represent eight provincial unions - East Coast, Horowhenua Kapiti, Manawatu, Poverty Bay, Wairararapa Bush, Wanganui and Wellington. The team’s storied history includes one Investec Super Rugby title (2016) and two Investec Super Rugby minor premierships (2015, 2016). As an organization, the Hurricanes are striving to be the best sports and entertainment organization in the country. Our club is now looking to the future to continue to work to provide the best fan experience possible.
