Matt Ricks is an accomplished civil engineer and academic with a strong background in engineering management and project design. Currently serving as an Assistant Professor and Visiting Instructor at Georgia Southern University since July 2021, Matt previously held a similar role at Liberty University until July 2021. In the engineering industry, Matt Ricks has contributed to various roles, including Sr. Manager of Engineering at Liberty Utilities, where responsibilities included designing natural gas systems and overseeing project scope and budgets. Prior experience includes positions at Atmos Energy and Hussey Gay Bell & Deyoung Inc., where project coordination, budget estimation, and compliance oversight were key responsibilities. Matt holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Auburn University, a Master’s degree from the University of South Carolina, and a Bachelor's degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
