Caryn Ellis

Caryn Ellis is an experienced professional currently serving as the Head of the Chief Executive’s Office at Hutt City Council since October 2018, overseeing communications, public relations, media, compliance, risk, and governance. Prior to this role, Caryn was a Senior Communications and Media Advisor at WelTec, where responsibilities included support for the Chief Executive’s Office and stakeholder management. Caryn's earlier positions include Project Coordinator/Writer at Otago Primary Health Organisations, where a strategic plan received positive feedback, and roles at the Tertiary Advisory Monitoring Unit, advising on financial performance in tertiary education. Caryn also held management positions at Skill NZ, leading the implementation of significant government initiatives. Caryn holds a Bachelor's Degree in Commercial Law and Accounting from Victoria University of Wellington.
