Kelly Crandle has a diverse work experience that spans over several years. Kelly started their career in 1993 as the Bishopdale Community Centre Manager at YMCA Christchurch. In 1995, they joined Hutt City Council as a Technical Officer and later became the Reserves Asset Manager. Kelly then worked as a Reserves Planner before holding the position of Head Parks and Reserves Business Unit, which they currently hold. In 2018, Kelly joined Wellington City Council as the Waterfront and City Parks Manager.

Kelly Crandle completed their education at Lincoln University (NZ) from 1989 to 1992, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Parks and Recreation Management. Prior to that, they attended Mahurangi College from 1981 to 1988, although the degree and field of study are not specified.
