Brandon Londt has a diverse work experience in the field of scientific research and operations. Brandon started their career as a Research Assistant at the Veterinary Laboratories Agency in 2004, where they conducted research projects on avian influenza and assisted in writing project proposals. Brandon then moved on to the Animal Health and Veterinary Laboratories Agency in 2007, where they worked as a Research Project Manager, responsible for the management and delivery of research projects on avian and swine influenza. Brandon also collaborated with other departments and prepared scientific reports for publication. In 2013, they joined the Animal and Plant Health Agency as an NDV Research Team Leader, providing scientific direction and securing funding for research on the Newcastle Disease virus. Brandon also managed a team of scientists and contributed to disease control consultancy at national and international levels. Lastly, in 2016, Brandon joined hVIVO as a Development Operations Manager, leading the generation of proposals and providing scientific expertise for client projects. Brandon also developed and implemented business strategies and innovation processes. In 2018, they were promoted to the role of Development Operations Director, where they continued to excel in their leadership and management responsibilities within the hLab division.
Brandon Londt completed their education in a sequential manner. Brandon first attended Wynberg Boys High School from 1992 to 1996, where they completed their Matric. Brandon then went on to the University of Cape Town and obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Microbiology and Biochemistry, studying from 1997 to 1999. Brandon continued their studies at the same university and received a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Medical Microbiology from 2000 to 2001. To further their education, they pursued a Masters (Med) degree in Medical Microbiology at the University of Cape Town from 2001 to 2003. Lastly, they completed their education by earning a PhD in Virology from the University of Reading, attending from 2007 to 2011.
