Joaquin Fernandez-Castro

Joaquin Fernandez-Castro is an experienced educator and academic with a diverse background in teaching and leadership within language education. Currently serving as a peer reviewer for the American Educational Research Journal and Educational Researcher since August 2019, Joaquin has held the position of Team Leader for AP Spanish Language and Culture and Post-AP Seminar at Harvard-Westlake School since August 2005, where responsibilities include creating lesson plans and educating students across various Spanish language levels. Joaquin's prior roles include Advisory Board Member for the Spark Program, World Languages Department Chair at Chapel Hill-Chauncy Hall School, High School Spanish Teacher at Andover Public Schools, and Coordinator of the Iberian Study Group at Harvard University. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Education from Vanderbilt University, a Certificate in Advanced Education Leadership from Harvard Graduate School of Education, and a Master of Arts in Sociology from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, among others.
