Marko is one of Australia’s pre-eminent government, infrastructure and project lawyers, with nearly 30 years experience acting across the full spectrum of infrastructure sectors including: defence; transport (road, rail, ports, airports); social infrastructure (health, education, justice, sporting stadia, cultural facilities, international foreign aid); energy and natural resources (including wind, solar and tidal); housing; utilities; property development (commercial, retail, industrial); and services outsourcings.

Marko acts for both the public and private sectors, including: government agencies; infrastructure owners; utilities; developers; financiers; project sponsors; contractors and consultants. His focus is on collaborative approaches to project delivery models and risk allocation (including by deconstructing the supply chain and creating integrated project teams), increasing the use of dispute avoidance techniques within industry, and greater adoption of technology to improve asset delivery and performance (including building information modelling and digital engineering) throughout the asset lifecycle.

Marko is appointed to a number of industry boards, including Roads Australia, Infrastructure Sustainability Council of Australia and the Australasian BIM Advisory Board, and is recognised by many directories, nationally and internationally, including most recently by Who’s Who Legal: Australia 2018, ranking him as the most highly regarded government contracts lawyer, and by WWL: Australia 2018 as a leading construction lawyer.
