Peter Holt is a partner at HWL Ebsworth and a specialist in environmental, planning, and local government law. Peter has over 18 years of experience in these areas and has worked on some of the most high-profile cases in NSW.

Before joining HWL Ebsworth, Peter worked as a Special Counsel in Holding Redlich's Property & Projects Group. Peter was responsible for the New South Wales Government’s planning reform agenda and played a key role in the development and implementation of the NSW Government’s planning reform agenda.

Prior to that, they worked as the Director of Legislative Updates Project at the Department of Planning and Environment where they were responsible for the development and implementation of the NSW Government’s planning reform agenda. Peter also worked as a Senior Legal Officer and Legal Officer at the Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Natural Resources.

During their career, Peter has gained extensive experience in all aspects of planning law, including major development, ePlanning, large-scale renewable energy projects, and development contributions.

Peter Holt studied at the University of Technology Sydney, where they obtained a Bachelor of Laws with a focus on environmental law, remedies and administrative law. Peter also has a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Sydney, with a focus on industrial relations and human resource management. Peter Holt also studied at Sydney Church of England Grammar School.
