Scott Chapman

Scott was the Executive Chairman of TressCox Lawyers for over 4 years. Scott has over 27 years’ experience in Health Law, advising a number of major health institutions, in particular the Australian Medical Association (NSW) Limited, Avant Mutual Group Ltd, MDA National Insurance Pty Ltd, MIGA, London Insurers and the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists and a range of specialist Medical Associations.

Scott’s expertise and experience includes negotiations with government health departments, professional conduct and administrative law matters including HCCC and AHPRA investigations, risk management, business structures and governance, corporatisation of medical practices and advising clients with respect to legislative interpretation and amendment, Coronial Inquests, Medicare investigations, policy advice, and corporate and commercial advice.

Scott also advises clients in relation to Hospital based investigations including issues relating to bullying and harassment, clinical privileges, systems issues and employment disputes including VMO disputes and accreditation.

Scott has been named in Best Lawyers™ Australia for Health & Aged Care. In 2013 he was also selected as Lawyer of the Year for Health & Aged Care – Sydney.
