Margarita Howard

CEO & President at HX5

Ms. Howard’s professional career has spanned more than 25 years of Executive Level Management focused primarily in providing oversight over all organizational areas of a company’s operations. Over the course of her career, Ms. Howard has held multiple executive management positions with companies supporting the Department of Defense and other Federal Agencies, with each move escalating her into positions of an increasingly complex nature and increased responsibility. Having founded HX5 in 2004, throughout her career, Ms. Howard held a number of senior management positions including Business Center Manager, Area Field Office Manager, Regional Director of Field Operations, and Vice President.

Ms. Howard, a Service Disabled Veteran, holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA), and a Bachelor of Arts Degree (BA). Ms. Howard is a veteran of the armed forces and served in the United States Air Force.

As the President and Chief Executive Officer for HX5, Ms. Howard leads an organization that provides professional R&D, Engineering, and Technical services to the federal government across 32 states and 60 government locations. Ms. Howard is responsible for creating, communicating, and implementing HX5’s vision, mission, and overall direction across the company. Ms. Howard oversees all aspects of formulating and implementing the strategic plan that guides the overall direction of HX5, while forming, staffing, guiding, leading, and managing the organization in a manner sufficient to accomplish HX5’s strategic goals while always ensuring HX5’s customers’ mission needs are being accomplished. She is responsible for evaluating the overall short- and long-term success of HX5 as an organization, while also maintaining awareness of both the external and internal competitive landscape, opportunities for expansion, customers, markets, new industry developments and standards. She assesses the principal risks of the company and ensures that these risks are being monitored and managed, as well as ensures that the company has the appropriate systems and resources in place to enable it to conduct its activities in full compliance with all state and federal regulations. She has the responsibility for ensuring the company always maintains the highest standards of ethics, corporate citizenship, and social responsibility whenever and wherever HX5 does business. She continually assesses all material undertakings and activities of HX5 and all material external factors affecting HX5 to ensure that processes and systems are in place to respond timely and effectively to the ever-changing business environment in which HX5 operates.
