Alan Shrimpton

Alan Shrimpton is an experienced professional with a diverse background in technology and engineering, currently serving as the Editor of The AIRSHIP Journal and a volunteer Council Member at AIRSHIP ASSOCIATION LIMITED since November 2018. As a volunteer Outreach Ambassador for Hybrid Air Vehicles Ltd since 2016, Alan engages with educational institutions to promote the history and future of airships and hybrid vehicles. Previously, Alan held strategic roles, including Strategic Technical Advisor at Rissington Applications Ltd and Interim IT Manager at Pro Insurance Solutions Ltd, where responsibilities included IT development, strategy planning, and team leadership. Alan’s law enforcement experience includes significant roles as Head of IS for Gloucestershire Constabulary and Avon and Somerset Constabulary, coupled with a chairperson position at GFirst LEP's ICT Sector Group. Alan holds a BTech (Hons) in Computer Science from Brunel University of London and A Levels in Maths, Physics, and Chemistry from Hitchin Boys Grammar School.
