Marcia Kay Thompson

Marcia Kay Thompson, Esq., SHRM-CP, currently serves as Chair of the Department of Criminal Justice and Assistant Professor at Aurora University since August 2023. Thompson is also an active member of the Board of Directors for both Social Progress Imperative and Hyde Park Art Center, and founded Creer Un Espace, LLC, which focuses on equity and organizational justice. As a Hearing Officer for the DOJ's Office of Justice Programs since 2013, Thompson reviews claims and conducts oral hearings. Previously, Thompson held the position of Director of Community Innovation at Amazon and served as Faculty for the Professional Identity Formation Program at Loyola University Chicago School of Law. Additional experience includes roles as Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer at Hillard Heintze, Director of Support Services for UCPD at the University of Chicago, and Vice President at ADR Vantage, Inc. Education includes a JD from George Mason University - Antonin Scalia Law School and a BA in Criminal Justice from Michigan State University.
