Rahul Deshpande has over 25 years of work experience in various roles. In 2019, they were a Product Engineering Manager at Wanner Engineering, Inc. From 2009 to 2019, they were at Xylem Inc., first as Manager - Sustaining Engineering, then as General Manager - India Engineering, and finally as General Manager - India Technology Center. From 2008 to 2009, they were the FLCL (Full Life Cycle Leader) at Mahindra Satyam. From 2004 to 2008, they were the Head of Design & Development at Tata Ficosa Automotive Systems Ltd. From 2002 to 2004, they were the Manager - Asia Product Development Center at Whirlpool Corporation. From 1998 to 2002, they were the Head of Design & Development at Banco Products India Ltd. From 1995 to 1998, they were a Six Sigma Black Belt at GE Lighting India Pvt Ltd.

Rahul Deshpande completed a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Mechanical Engineering from Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara. Rahul then followed this up with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Operations Management from Sikkim Manipal University - Distance Education between 2010 and 2012.
