Kong Eng Choo

Kong Eng Choo has over 30 years of work experience in the gases industry. Kong Eng currently serves as the Managing Director of Hydrexia in Malaysia. Prior to this, they held the position of VP Plant Operations at Leeden National Oxygen Ltd from 2018 to 2022. From 2021 to 2022, Kong served as the Regional Head - Regional Operations Support at Nippon Sanso Holdings Singapore.

Earlier in their career, they worked at Linde Gas Asia from 2011 to 2017, fulfilling roles such as Head of BSCM for South Asia & ASEAN and Head of Supply in Malaysia. Kong Eng was responsible for supply chain planning, operations, and maintenance, as well as the Remote Operations Centre at Hicom.

From 2005 to 2010, Kong was the Tonnage Operations Head at MOX-Linde Gases, managing operations in Malaysia and providing technical support in Sarawak and Pakistan. Kong Eng previously served as the Reliability Manager S&SEA at BOC Gases from 2004 to 2005, implementing condition-based maintenance and reliability review in multiple countries.

During their tenure at MOX Gases Sdn Bhd from 2000 to 2004, Kong held the position of National Operations Manager. Prior to that, from 1992 to 2000, they worked at Malaysian Oxygen Berhad, holding roles such as Operations Manager North, Production Manager North, and Production Engineer North.

Kong Eng Choo completed their secondary education at Penang Free School from 1981 to 1987. Kong Eng then pursued a Bachelor's degree in Mineral Resources Engineering from Universiti Sains Malaysia, graduating in 1992.
