Sean Obrien

Sean O'Brien is an experienced energy market analyst currently working at Hydro Tasmania since June 2023. Prior to this, Sean held the position of adequacy and energy markets analyst at EirGrid Group from August 2019 to March 2023, where responsibilities included adequacy modeling for Ireland and Northern Ireland and the analysis of market methodologies and emissions. Earlier experience includes working as a graduate engineer, contributing to interconnection and grid connection projects, following an internship in the materials research and technology department at Hilti Group. Sean O'Brien holds a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Trinity College Dublin and RWTH Aachen University, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Trinity College Dublin.
