Deniz Turkben

Deniz Turkben, P.Eng. is a Senior Transmission Planning Engineer at Hydro One with over a decade of experience managing the asset management of high-voltage transmission lines. Responsibilities include overseeing various components such as conductors, insulators, and cables, alongside conducting failure and root cause analysis and engaging in industry research. Previously held positions include Technical Services Engineer, where support was provided for substation assets, and Project Scheduler focused on distributed generation projects under Ontario's Feed-In Tariff Program. Prior experience includes a role as a Design Engineer at AECL, developing fuel handling systems for the Advanced CANDU nuclear reactor, and an internship at the Ontario Ministry of Transportation, project managing traffic management systems. Deniz holds a Master of Engineering in Electric Power Engineering from the University of Waterloo and a Bachelor of Engineering & Management in Electrical Engineering from McMaster University.
