Soumya Mitra

Soumya Mitra is an accomplished engineering professional with extensive experience in product design and development, particularly in the field of plasma cutting technology at Hypertherm since May 2012. As an Engineering Team Leader and Senior Staff Design Engineer, Soumya has focused on creating innovative solutions that address industry challenges, leveraging knowledge in plasma physics and fluid dynamics. Prior experience includes a role as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Michigan Technological University, where Soumya taught various laboratory sections and conducted research on multiphase flows, culminating in a PhD in Energy Thermo Fluids. Additional experience includes internships at Argonne National Laboratory, specializing in aerodynamic simulations, and The Automotive Research Association of India, contributing to fuel injector nozzle analysis.
