Ed Quail has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Ed began their career in 1987 as a Computer Operator in the US Army, maintaining and troubleshooting hospital computer systems. From 1989 to 1992, they served as a System Administrator, managing a 100-node UNIX client/server network and reducing downtime through reorganizing backups.

In 1992, Ed joined GTE Government Systems as a Systems Engineer, where they designed, integrated, delivered, and maintained hardware, software, and network systems. Ed also developed programs to streamline the installation and configuration of new software packages and instructed classes on UNIX System Administration and X Windows.

Ed worked as a Systems Analyst at MCI from 1994 to 1996, designing and implementing software tools to support production call processing servers. Ed also maintained the Intelligent Services Network, which consisted of UNIX, DOS, OS/2, and VMS servers.

From 1996 to 1999, Ed served as a Systems Engineer/Team Lead at MCI Corporation, providing technical leadership to a team of system administrators and administering over 300 AIX and Solaris servers. Ed also designed and implemented new software tools to support UNIX servers.

Ed then joined LodgeNet Interactive Corporation as a Senior Systems Administrator from 1999 to 2004. In this role, they provided technical leadership to a team of system administrators and served as a database administrator for Oracle servers running on HP-UX. Ed also architected new hardware and operating systems to meet business needs.

In 2005, Ed returned to the US Army and served as a Retrans Team Chief, leading two deployed radio retransmission teams until 2008. From 2008 to 2012, they worked as a BaseStation NCO, monitoring local and global networks and functioning as an assistant COMSEC Custodian. From 2012 to 2017, they served as a Senior Automations NCO, advising and integrating technical solutions for standard and tactical networks, providing help desk support, and designing and building VPN solutions.

From 2017 to 2020, Ed worked for the US Army as a Business Solutions Manager, supervising an Enterprise Solutions team and overseeing project management for enterprise solutions development and implementation. Ed developed a system for monitoring organization VPN systems using Splunk, syslog, SQL, and custom applications.

In 2020, Ed held the role of Splunk Administrator at General Dynamics Information Technology before joining Hypori Virtual Mobility as a Senior Systems Integration Engineer.

Ed Quail has pursued their education in the field of Computer Science at Franklin University. The specific years of study at the university are not provided. In addition to their degree, Ed has also obtained two additional certifications. In December 2017, they received the BRC / BRC2 certification from the Motorcycle Safety Foundation. In October 2017, they obtained the Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) certification from EC-Council.
