Daniel Hampu has a long and varied work experience. Most recently, they have served as President and CEO of the Burton D. Morgan Foundation since 2022. Prior to that, they were Vice President and Board Member and Chief Operating Officer at Fontus Blue from 2015 to 2020. During that time, they helped develop corporate strategy, advised on corporate fundraising outreach, operations, and other strategic decisions, and designed and implemented corporate strategies, plans, and procedures. From 2020 to 2021, they were Brand Ambassador at Hyr Medical, Inc. and held the roles of Director of Investing and Startup Venture Capital Advisor and NEOSVF Program Manager at Bounce Innovation Hub. From 2012 to 2020, they were Executive Director, Vice President, Secretary, and Board Member at NEOSVF, where they generated deal flow for all chapters, developed strategies for the continued existence of the organization, and scheduled, ran, documented, and reported the activities of board meetings. Lastly, from 2013 to 2016, they were New Ventures Manager and I-Corps Sites Instructor/Administrator at The University of Akron, where they assisted in drafting transaction materials for investment pitch presentations, grants, and licensing, testing, and partnership agreements for entrepreneurs and faculty from diverse backgrounds and concentrations. Daniel also performed strategic financial and marketing analysis for start-up companies, developed market entry strategies and established an understanding of competitive advantages and intellectual property positions, evaluated, coached, and consulted high-tech start-up businesses on their pitches and commercialization, and created a curriculum, co-managed, and co-instructed NSF I-Corps Sites on Steve Blank's Business Model Canvas. In 2016, they were a Startup Buspreneur on the maker bus that traveled from Akron, Ohio to Boulder, Colorado. While on the bus, they crafted a business model for a new product and developed a pitch for multiple competitions. Theirteam created DashPilot, a retrofit kit to detect and alert drivers when they were likely to be showing signs of fatigue at the wheel.

Daniel Hampu has a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the University of Akron School of Law, a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from The University of Akron, a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) from University of Mount Union in Business Administration and Management, Marketing, and a High School/Secondary Diplomas and Certificates from Hawken School. Daniel also obtained a Member of the Ohio State Bar certification from the Supreme Court of Ohio in November of 2015.
