Floyd Gella's work experience begins with their role as a Research and Development Engineer at Hysata, starting in April 2022.
Prior to that, they served as the Vice President of Mechanical Engineering Design and Video-Processing at the UOW Mechatronics Engineering Society from January 2021 to March 2022. In this role, they successfully re-established the society at the University of Wollongong and played a key role in generating CAD models of custom parts for a CNC Automated Air-Hockey Robot. Floyd also utilized 3D printing and machining techniques for part fabrication.
Additionally, Floyd worked as a Digital Control Systems Engineering Intern at Shoalhaven Water from November 2021 to February 2022. During this time, they developed a PLC program using the CX-One package to automate control systems for a chemical dosing device. Floyd also produced technical documentation for the Fisherman's Paradise Sewage Pumping Station and logged LoRaWAN devices onto the SCADA system to monitor low pressure sewer systems.

Floyd Gella pursued their education at the University of Wollongong from 2018 to 2022. During this period, they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree with a specialization in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering. In November 2020, they also earned a certification in WHS General Construction Induction (White Card) from SafeWork NSW.
