Doug Bishop

Doug Bishop is the Assistant General Counsel and Executive Director of Litigation at Hyundai Motor America since April 2022, bringing expertise in consumer class action and intellectual property litigation, complex government investigations, regulatory compliance, crisis management, and business advice. Previously, Doug served as Assistant General Counsel at American Honda Motor Co., Inc. from August 2013 to April 2022, managing litigation related to product liability and consumer class actions while supporting regulatory compliance and corporate communications. Their earlier experience includes positions as Managing Counsel at Toyota Motor Sales, USA, Inc., and Senior Staff Attorney at Honda North America, Inc., where Doug focused on product liability and consumer class action litigation. Doug started their legal career as an attorney at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP, defending corporate clients in various litigation matters. Doug holds a Doctor of Law (JD) from the University of California, College of the Law, San Francisco and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in English Language and Literature from UCLA.
