Carola Franzen

Carola Franzen is an experienced professional in environmental geosciences and atmospheric chemistry, currently serving as a funding projects officer at HZDR Innovation GmbH since February 2022, while also holding the position of EU relations officer and scientist in resource ecology at Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR) since April 2011. Franzen has contributed to lectures at TU Dresden, focusing on environmental chemistry, and has engaged in various projects related to aqueous environmental geochemistry, mineral-water interfacial reactions, and the fate and transport of contaminants. Previous experience includes a role as a project collaborator at the Institut für Diagnostik und Konservierung an Denkmalen in Sachsen und Sachsen-Anhalt e.V. in 2010. Academic qualifications include a Ph.D. in Environmental Geosciences from Heidelberg University and an Engineer’s Degree in Analytics and Spectroscopy from Leipzig University.
