I Live Here I Give Here
Piper Nelson is an experienced nonprofit leader currently serving as the Executive Director at I Live Here I Give Here since August 2023, where efforts focus on fostering philanthropy in Central Texas through various community initiatives. Previously, Piper held the position of Chief Public Strategies Officer at The SAFE Alliance from October 2017 to July 2022, overseeing public outreach and multiple teams within a large agency dedicated to combating abuse. As Partnerships Manager for Let Girls Learn with the Peace Corps from November 2015 to September 2017, Piper developed partnerships that generated over $3 million to support education initiatives for girls worldwide. Additional roles include Deputy Executive Director at Annie's List, enhancing women's participation in Texas politics, and Publisher of The Texas Observer, where Piper successfully raised substantial funding for investigative journalism. Piper holds a Master of Public Administration from The University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor's degree in Women's Studies and Spanish from Carleton College.
