Melissa Ward is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the construction industry, having worked at Turner Construction Company since August 2007. Throughout the tenure at Turner, Melissa has held various titles including Preconstruction Manager, SPD Senior Project Manager, Project Manager, Sr. Project Engineer, and Project Engineer. In addition to this role, Melissa serves as a Board Member for I2SL Greater Los Angeles, starting in February 2024. Melissa holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from UCLA, earned between 2003 and 2007.

The International Institute for Sustainable Laboratories (I²SL) is devoted to the principles of sustainable laboratories and related high-technology facilities, from design to engineering to operation. Through worldwide partnerships and the exchange of technical expertise, I²SL will encourage the development of high-tech facilities that address the rapid pace of science, medicine, research, and development in an ever-changing and dynamic environment. Coverage: -Los Angeles County -Orange County -Ventura County -Riverside County -San Bernardino County Mission: To engage all stakeholders in advancing the safety and sustainability of laboratories and other high-tech facilities globally. Vision: I²SL will be the global leader and primary resource connecting all stakeholders and providing information and education to ensure safe, sustainable laboratory design, operation, and use. The goals of the I2SL Greater Los Angeles Chapter are to: - Inform laboratory designers, builders and especially users of the importance of sustainable laboratory design and operation. - Educate industry professionals, as well as our extended community of the best ways in which to employ sustainable designs and operations. - Inspire our community to challenge convention and create new environments that are as creative as the science that occurs within them
