Derrick ODonnell has a diverse work experience spanning different industries. Derrick currently works as a Project Manager at i3 Product Development since September 2022. Prior to this, they held IT roles at the Wisconsin Court System/Wisconsin Supreme Court, where they served as a Software Development Supervisor from June 2021 to September 2022, and as a Software Development Project Manager from September 2016 to September 2022.
Before their career in IT, ODonnell held various positions in marketing. Derrick worked as a Marketing Associate at Digsite Inc. from July 2015 to August 2016, and as a Marketing Coordinator at Promega's North American Branch from September 2010 to July 2015.
Furthermore, ODonnell has experience in athletics and coaching. Derrick served as the Head Coach of the McFarland Spartan Sharks from May 2010 to September 2016. During their tenure, they achieved notable coaching accomplishments, such as coaching a silver medalist at Junior Worlds in Singapore, coaching multiple Olympic Trials qualifiers, and mentoring Wisconsin State Record holders.
ODonnell also has a background in college athletics. Derrick was a Student Athlete at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where they participated on the Badger Men's Swim Team. Derrick completed their four years of competition and acted as the team captain from 2009 to 2010.
Derrick ODonnell has a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Life Science Communications from the University of Madison-Wisconsin, which they obtained from 2006 to 2010. Derrick later pursued a Master's degree in Business Administration and Management, General from the Minnesota School of Business, completing it from 2013 to 2015. Additionally, Derrick holds certifications including the PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) from the Project Management Institute, obtained in February 2023, and the Professional Scrum Master I (PSM-I) from Scrum.org, obtained in January 2019.
