Kris Alvarez

Kris Alvarez has been working in the geology field since 2005. Kris started their career as a Production Geologist at Teck Sumitomo and then moved on to become a Project Geologist at Newmont Mining Company in 2008. In 2014, they joined Geotemps as a Geologist and then moved on to become a Senior Geologist at Kinross Gold Corporation in 2015. In 2021, Kris Alvarez joined McEwen Mining Inc. as a Senior Geologist and currently holds the role of Lead Project Geologist at i-80 Gold Corp since 2022.

Kris Alvarez attended Western Washington University from 1992 to 1996, where they earned an M.S. in Geology. Before that, they attended Weber State University from 1982 to 1990, earning a B.S. Cum Laude with a major in Geology and a minor in Chemistry.
