Pooja Bhatnagar-Mathur is currently serving as the Head of the FAO-IAEA Plant Breeding & Genetics Laboratory at the International Atomic Energy Agency since March 2023. Prior to this role, Pooja Bhatnagar-Mathur led Precision Genetics at CIMMYT, CGIAR from February 2018 to March 2023, overseeing a multi-disciplinary team focused on pre-breeding and trait discovery in grain legumes and dryland cereals. Pooja Bhatnagar-Mathur has extensive experience at ICRISAT, where tenure spanned from September 2004 to October 2021, including roles such as Principal Scientist in Cell and Molecular Biology, focusing on genetic transformation and biotechnology research. Previous positions include roles as Research Associate at ICAR and a Scientific Officer in an Indo Swiss collaboration. Educationally, Pooja Bhatnagar-Mathur holds a Ph.D. in Biotechnology from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University and Master's and Bachelor's degrees from Dr YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, specializing in Biotechnology and Horticulture, respectively.
