Dave Zader is an experienced fire management professional with a strong background in wildland fire policy and incident management. Currently serving as a Wildland Fire Policy Committee Member for the International Association of Fire Chiefs since June 2020, Zader has also held roles as an Independent Contractor for Global Support and Development and XPRIZE. From January 2002 to January 2022, Zader contributed to the Colorado Wildfire and Incident Management Academy as a Lead Instructor and served as Operations Section Chief for the Boulder County Incident Management Team from January 2009 to October 2021. In addition, Zader was a Fire Management Officer for the City of Boulder Fire Department (Wildland Division) until retirement in August 2020 and had extensive experience with various incident management teams. Zader earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry, Wildlife, and Biology from Virginia Tech in 1996.
