Jez Browning

Jez Browning has extensive work experience in various roles within the Royal Air Force (RAF) and IAG Cargo. Jez started their career as an RAF Engineer Officer Cadet and held positions such as Junior Engineering Officer, Harrier Force Armament Officer, and Officer Commanding Support Engineering Flight. Jez also served as a Squadron Leader in posts like Weapons Certification & Test Engineer, Senior Engineering Officer, and Executive Officer in different locations including the USA and the Netherlands.

In their later career, Browning worked as the Chief of Staff (Support) and Chief Air Engineer in Operation HERRICK and as the Chief of Staff at Headquarters No. 2 Group. Jez also held the position of Wing Commander Armament, Explosive Ordnance Disposal, and Survival Equipment, where they managed the storage and use of RAF air weapons and explosives. Additionally, Browning served as OC Engineering & Logistics Wing, Chief Air Engineer, and Military Continuing Airworthiness Manager, where they oversaw air and ground engineering and logistics activity.

Their most recent position was as the Senior Requirements Manager (Enablers, Support Systems & Sustainability) for Future Combat Air System in the RAF. Currently, Browning is working as the Head of Operations Business Development at IAG Cargo.

Jez Browning's education history includes a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Defence Studies from King's College London, which was obtained from 2011 to 2012. Prior to that, they completed a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Aerosystems Engineering at Loughborough University from 2000 to 2001. Jez also holds a Bachelor of Engineering (with Honours) degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Loughborough University, which they obtained from 1991 to 1994. In terms of additional certifications, Jez Browning is a member of Mensa International, obtained in July 2023. Jez has also obtained a Project Management Qualification (PMQ) from the Association for Project Management in July 2021. Jez Browning is an alumnus of the Emerging Strategic Leaders program at Windsor Leadership, obtained in March 2021. Jez is a member of the Institute of Explosives Engineers (IExpE), obtained in October 2014. Additionally, Jez Browning holds the title of Chartered Engineer (CEng) from the Engineering Council, obtained in July 2014. Jez is a fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, obtained in July 2014 as well.
