Andres Colmenares

Andres Colmenares has a diverse range of work experience. Currently, they are a member of the Advisory Committee for the Green Web Fellowship at the Green Web Foundation, where they help review and select fellows. Andres is also the Open Climate Coordinator at the Open Environmental Data Project, where they explore the intersection between the open movement and the climate crisis.

In 2022, Andres became the Director of the Master in Design for Responsible AI at the University School of Design and Engineering of Barcelona. Prior to that, they co-founded and served as a co-director of IAM, a creative research lab focused on the socio-ecological impacts of digital technologies. Through IAM, they led strategy, business development, and communications, working on various projects with organizations such as WeTransfer, Tate, and BBC.

Andres also served as a Jury Member at Ars Electronica in 2022 and was a co-founder of wabi-sabi lab, a strategic foresight company. Andres worked as an e-commerce editor at TheTrendNet and as a strategist for ABSOLUT Mode Society and ABSOLUT Network.

Additionally, Andres has shared their expertise as a guest lecturer at ELISAVA, where they taught on topics such as trends, communication, and strategy.

Andres Colmenares has a diverse education history. In 2000, they enrolled at Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano and earned a degree in Advertising in 2005. Following this, in 2009, Andres attended The New School and completed a course in Consumer Behavior. In the same year, they also pursued an Especialización in Coolhunting at IED Barcelona. In 2010, they attended Hyper Island NY for a Master Class in Digital studies. Lastly, from 2011 to 2012, Andres pursued a Master's degree in Estrategia y creatividad interactiva at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
