Aaron Steeghs

Aaron Steeghs is an experienced professional in health, safety, environment, and corporate social responsibility, currently serving as Vice President of Health & Safety, Environment and Communities at IAMGOLD Corporation since May 2023. Previous roles include Sr. Director of Social Performance & ESG and Director of Health, Safety and Sustainable Development at Yamana Gold Inc., where critical initiatives in social performance and sustainable development were led. Aaron has also held significant positions within IAMGOLD, contributing to the development of global CSR strategies and leading negotiations with Aboriginal groups in Canada. Prior experience includes advisory roles at Canadian Business for Social Responsibility and environmental surveying at Breakwater Resources Ltd. Aaron holds an International MBA in Sustainability from the Schulich School of Business, along with an MA in International Development Studies and a BA in Anthropology.
