After completing her master's degree in history, political science and Islamic studies in Hamburg and Jerusalem, Ina Rosentreter worked as a research assistant in the Department of Nuclear Medicine at UKE Hamburg-Eppendorf, followed up by a project coordination for clinical trials at GlaxoSmithKline GmbH & Co. KG. After further training in higher education and science management, she transferred to HSBA Hamburg School of Business Administration in 2011, where she was first senior research officer and later senior officer in executive education. Since May 2021 she supports the central science management at IASS.

The Institute’s central research topics are global sustainability policy and new governance models, especially with regard to democratic institutions and decision-making processes, innovative solutions for future energy systems, sustainable resource consumption, and the challenges facing our Earth system as a result of climate change and air pollution.
